Types of Equipment

For manufacture of bottles, Food Plastics uses two different types of extrusion blow moulding machines (EBM); for the smaller volumes of bottles and containers we use continuous extrusion machines. For larger volumes of bottles we use the American made Uniloy reciprocating screw (UR) blow moulders. The UR machines are designed to produce higher volumes of light weight bottles.

Food Plastics have recently invested in injection blow moulding machines (IBM) to manufacture the wide range of more technical bottles and containers. These machines will enable us to supply bottles and containers ranging in size from 5ml to approximately 750ml. On the IBM machine the neck section is injection moulded (on the EBM machine the neck is blow mouldered) so we can manufacture products with much tighter and repeatable neck finishes. This is especially important for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, as well containers that require induction seals.

Food Plastics use Battenfeld injection moulders for our cap range.

With our adaptable colour blending systems, we can manufacture any bottle, container or cap in virtually any colour.
